Uganda’s 0.5% mobile money withdrawal tax
The withdrawal tax is 0.5% of the cash you take out. MTN prints the bottom and top of that tax for each band. This page turns those ranges into the exact shilling for a chosen amount.
Withdraw UGX 50,000 on MTN: network fee UGX 1,500, tax UGX 250, total extra UGX 1,750. The same tax applies on Airtel. The network fee at that amount is also UGX 1,500.
